Portable power station recommendations

Hopefully I don’t regret this one

(figured that the climate is only getting worse… better to adapt to it)

You may only regret not storing 500 gallons of unleaded … :scream:

:crossed_fingers: that’s never the case.

That can soon be sorted with a bucket and 5-6 foot of hose pipe.:rofl:

Power inverter is the way to go,I had one in my work van for charging power tool battery’s
Most of the good ones stop working when your rav,s battery gets to a certain voltage so you don’t end up with a flat battery in your vehicle.
Also handy for power cuts,I use a 12v extension cable run into the house.

You can get Lipo leisure batteries which weigh a lot less and stand much more abuse than traditional ones. Effectively have better capacity as they can be discharged further too

You obviously missed the word “cheaper” in my post. :man_shrugging:

Looks a good bit of kit.

The first generator we got was… sorta ok but a pain in the backside

At the big meet some people tried to help me get it re started. I have to say once it is started it will happily run until the fuel runs out. However, then comes the time to have to try to get it started. I ended up causing an injury to my arm trying to start it so hard. I thought about looking at an electronic start one as I thought it must be nice and easy then.

By chance we stumbled on a company that were selling “Jobsite CT 4540”. We were lucky as they were clearing stock and we got about £400 off. This is a 3.1k power. It has an electric start and with the push of a button it stars stright away. What is also a bonus is it has a pull cord in case of flat batery, The pull cord is so easy, little effort is needed. Once running it will re charge it’s battery. Was told by the company that the battery only needs a charge every 6 months or so.

At the big meet it ran happily powering what we needed whilst charging the caravan and a leisure battery.

It is also quieter then the red one which is good as at the big meet we use it during the daytime.

EcoFlow are great. They also have some refurb units with generous discounts on their website.

They’re also silent so won’t piss off anyone that’s trying to sleep nearby
