I have just added this to the map of places to fly your drone at Drone Scene:

Land owner permission requirements unknown.

Hovertravel is the fastest ferry service between Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight and is the world’s only commercial passenger hovercraft service.

Plenty of parking on the seafront.

I took off from the lower part of the beach away from any families.

Need to stay clear of His Majesty's Naval Base, Portsmouth (HMNB Portsmouth).

The originator declared that this location was not inside a Flight Restriction Zone at the time of being flown on 06/01/2024. It remains the responsibility of any pilot to check for any changes before flying at the same location.

I captured video of the Hovercraft earlier in the year and followed it out for a little bit. A good location for flying.

Surprising how much can be captured along that stretch of water. Shame we cannot go further into the Port.

@uav_hampshire Me too! But having watched all your videos on instagram there’s no way I’m going to publish mine…much better to just direct anyone who shows an interest to your channel instead! My footage compared to yours is :poop:

^^ Having said that, I’ve not used my Mavic 4 Pro to record the hovercraft yet, so it might help…but I doubt it will!

It’s all about finding the best flying moves around such things a hovercraft. You’ll get there :slightly_smiling_face:

Ryde is much better i find to capture departure and arrivals.

@Djiman61….Personally I don’t get that close to the rear of the hovercraft, bear in mind if your drone accidentally gets a clip of the rear thrust from those propellors, it will be probably unrecoverable.
