Posting to facebook groups

Hi does anyone have experience with issues posting to facebook groups
Im a member of a few, drones uk is the one in my example.

I tried to post there a few times.
Find attached my letest attemp.

Its from a business facebook account to keep seperate from my personal fave book, but its not promoting anything and no starved business ext to promote, so as with many posts also posting from the same type of account daily on there that should not be an issues.

No faul language or anything else. There is no way to contact them and no feedback given as to why its being declined. I also sent a polite post asking why it was being declined and requested help of rectifying and issues. But that was also declined with no feedback.

Any help appreciated

The Drone Uk page is one of the most toxic pages I have come across - the mix of bad info / advice and promotion of poor advice is just mental on that page.

It could be just as simple as someone does not want to enable you to show what you have done as its too compliant to what they will normally post.

I posted recently about the lack of good groups like Grey Arrows on that page as it baffled me that Grey Arrows was hardly mentioned but others were.

Basically what I am trying to say - is worry not about why it was declined and know you will have way better engagement here with a group of people that are very much invested in the hobby and all aspects of flying and ensuring we continue to have the freedoms we enjoy and not watch the world burn like that group does.

You can read all about that here - → https://greyarro.ws/t/grey-arrows-and-facebook-why/106892/25

Thanks for your reply
I’ve felt nothing but welcome here.
I’ve had good feedback here and I’m enjoying my journey so far.

Your in the right place - its what why I was confused to why this club was not being promoted better on Facebook groups as I have found the people here to be so engaging / knowledgeable without judgment and as a result I have gone onto doing things I have never been comfortable doing with a drone.

So worry not about a Facebook group - this is where you will get solid feedback and great advice.

A few of these FB groups have blanket rules against posting as a page/business. You could find that posting the exact same content from your personal account would be approved with no issue.

I thought that at first but many post for same type of accounts.
Thanks for reply though and it may work but also thunk its abit ignorant to have denied post with no comment and when asked for help that is also ignored.
Make me not realy wanna post there nkw especially whith my main account

Facebook has become very toxic in general. It was a good platform, back in the day, for keeping in touch with overseas friends and family. I’ve come off it now, as they’ve introduced the subscription base unless you want to accept ads and having your details given to third parties.

That’s good to know  And obviously it’s something we would all like when we join a Facebook group, whether it be for drones, local news or crochet tips and patterns.

I think a couple of the differences are that Grey Arrows tends to attract mature people - not necessarily in age but in outlook - and that dicussions here tend to be relatively civilised - or they get skilfully moderated.

I see it hasn’t taken you long to grab a Mini 4 in preference to your Potensic Atom (itself one of the better non-DJI drones). Hope you continue to enjoy your drone adventure and also hope (for all of us!) that we get some decent flying weather soon!

Thanks for the response.

I initially was very impressed with the Atom; however, when I processed the data, it was very hit and miss. Often, it seemed more 720p/1080 rather than 4k, and even on a really good day, it lacked clarity.
The drone handled very well, and it helped me learn to fly while taking account of my surroundings due to the lack of obstacle avoidance on the Atom.

Other than the video quality, I would have been happy to keep it to learn with. I’m also gutted that I got my Mini when I did, as two weeks later they reduced them, lol.

I’ve also learned since then that there were other reported issues affecting the Atom video during that time, so it might have been resolved; I’m not sure.

But I’m now very happy with the Mini 4 and appreciate the sensors, especially for automated flight and tracking.

There haven’t been that many good days since I got it, so I’m looking forward to more sunny days. And that got me thinking about filters. I posted about the Freewell All Day-6Pack as it seemed good value for what you get over the three from DJI. I know I could spend much more, but for everyday use, I can’t see us wanting much more just yet. So i thunk thats my next uograde

I have the same issue with the UK FB group and one or two others - if I ever try to post it is immediately removed. I’m told this indicates it is the AI which is doing the deleting but no idea why and as you say, it is impossible to ask questions of the moderators as these too are removed. So I gave up.

Other FB groups are fine - I have not understood why I’m ok with some but not others but agree with the posts above about the toxic nature of a lot of the FB drone groups.

Cheers,

Ian

Not surprised. All the drone facebook groups I have joined, including the ones specific to my drone, are incredibly toxic, critical and impatient. So much so, I’ve either left, unfollowed or snoozed them. There’s so much bickering and outright shaming/ridiculing on them. One of the biggest reasons I joined here. As a newbie to the hobby I have felt very welcome, unlike Facebook ones, where I don’t feel ‘safe’ to post or even comment!
