I am looking for a decent sized power brick to charge used batteries when flat while out flying
Has anyone used any and what make and size
Im not sure that power bricks will recharge drone batteries, I think, and I’m willing to be corrected, they need an input voltage of slightly over 13V or they won’t accept a charge, or if they do, they won’t charge for very long, hence the reason why they have to be connected to a mains charger of car charger with the engine running…
For the M2 P/Z there is one of these …
Unaware of anything similar for other DJI drones.
Thats cool but pricey mate
You need a load of power for the M2P batteries.
Think about it - each M2P battery has twice the capacity of the average large phone power bank … and they cost £30/£50 a time. So you won’t manage it for less.
Didnt think of it like that so in real terms not that expensive
I’ve been using one of these for a few years. Mine is slightly larger with a capacity of 45,000mAh.
I use it to charge my Spark Batteries with the Fly More three port charger. My Anafi batteries with a third party three port charger. Along with my smart devices and my mains powered LiPo charger when I can’t be bothered lugging my Pb battery to the field.
Comes in handy for other round the house and garden applications.
Regards
Nidge.
Not relevant to your needs … but, for anyone else looking through this thread …
For the MP …

For the Mavic Air … (currently unavailable)
Thats what I’ve found @Brian used to charge the 3PA batteries with a Halfords own brand starter, but it wont touch the MP batteries (or does for a while then stops), handy for everything else USB or Ciggie lighter powered.
Only time i use a power brick is to make sure my iPad and controller are always fully charged. The iPad lasts a long time in fairness but the controller needs “watching” if I’m going thru a 4 battery flight(s). I was led to believe that the DJI smart batteries are very robust if treated as they should be re charging BUT become very temperamental if bricks etc are used. Personally I wouldn’t risk my battery investment going up in smoke due to a poor choice of charger. Its all about £ but maybe its best to bite the bullet and buy a couple of extra batteries ?
Hi
I currently have a couple of brick brands - Enkeeo and Beaudens. Both good in their respective ways, though my Beaudens (search “BEAUDENS Portable Power Station 150WH Power Bank Solar Panel Generator 51875mAh”) on fleaBay maybe wins out as it can be recharged up to 2000 times (uses LiFePhosphate cells as opposed to usual Li-Ion ?), has a robust casing, car/solar cables (many others don’t) and a 2 yr Wtty. Note that this is basically an inverter inc. USB output - you can charge your controller/phone/tablet via the (3) USB’s while the drone batts are just charged by plugging in the usual mains-charger. If you have a car-charger, it comes with a cigar-socket lead as well. So far I’ve used it this way when out/about with the MA, whilst at home it’ll happily run laptops/monitors and charge phone’s/tablets/watch/torches etc with no probs. Note that Max mains-power is 150w, but that should suffice for a drone-batt charger ? Other, higher-power brands exist, but they then add weight and £££££ Hope this helps.
I use the Smatree for my Spark but haven’t got anything for the P4 as of yet
“BEAUDENS Portable Power Station" made me giggle - would that be nuclear or coal ? ohh yes and/or Huawei ?
Nuclear obviously…I’ve noticed I’m starting to glow green at night for some reason…
Can’t comment on the Huawei…though again for some reason it seems to click/whirr as you go past it, even when switched off ?
…meant to also say (and >very< loosely paraphrasing a Mr Remington - those of a certain age will remember what I’m on about ) I like the Beaudens so much I got another one (won on eBay at lowest/only bid). Most handy for where we are off-grid, not just for MA charging…a backup, of a backup
