Premiere Pro tip, if you have two screens

If you’re using Premiere Pro and have two screens, you may not know that you can set your second monitor to be a full display of your output. This is really useful when it comes to colour grading.

All you need to do is go to Edit | Preferences | Playback and put a check against the screen you want to output. As soon you check the box the display will change to show the output content.

It’s a little annoying when you are multi-tasking, as it’ll sometimes place your apps under the display. Worth the sacrifice for the ease of use that it brings, I think. I hope you find this useful!

Anyone else got any useful Premiere Pro hacks?

But FCPX on the Mac lets you do the same

I guess most of the higher-end systems do, but I only recently dug around in the settings in Premiere and discovered it. It’s always worth having a poke around to see what you can learn!

It’s made a significant difference to the ease of editing, rather than peering at a small rectangle on the screen.
