Preston Dock and Marina is an interesting site to fly. Apart from the obvious Dock and Marina there are plenty of old and interesting objects to capture. The ‘Dock Boat Crane’ which was once used to lift the harbour gates for maintenance, the ever growing Marina and leisure boats, Preston Dock swing bridge which supports a steam train line as well as Vehicles. The south dock and Bull Nose which is the entrance to the dockland from the main Ribble river.
If you intend flying always check for temporary flight restrictions as often there are NOTAMS issued for the nearby Warton Areodrome and Blackpool Airports.
The originator declared that this location was not inside a Flight Restriction Zone at the time of being flown on 14/05/2025. It remains the responsibility of any pilot to check for any changes before flying at the same location. Landowner permission may be required before taking off.
