Here’s my review of the “KUUQA Update Version 4-12 Inch Tablet Holder Bracket Mount Extender with Neck Lanyard Strap for Dji Mavic 2/ Mavic Pro/Mavic Air/Spark Remote Controller”
I have mentioned before my dislike of having my control sticks covered and out of view while flying my Mavic 2 Zoom and have noted with interest the responses as others here express their views.
Having already purchased an “over the controls” sttyle of mount I decided to take a gamble on one of these “at the top of the controller” style mounts.
Enter the “KUUQA Update Version 4-12 Inch Tablet Holder”.
First impressions.
It’s a plastic construction and is quite cheap and nasty. Quite quickly I realised that one of the main sections was warped. It’s not so bad that I can’t use the mount however.
The mount grips the controller very securely, so securely that it leaves marks on the top of the controller, in my photo of this the marks are more pronounced because I didn’t remove the factory protection from the controller when it arrived.
The tablet holder has plenty of capacity for my iPad Mini and hold it pretty securely in place.
The lanyard is a nice inclusion but the attachment point is quite low on the mount so won’t do anything to offset the top-heavy feel with the iPad Mini in place.
All your warnings were right of course, this setup makes the controller very top-heavy and I will need to use it a few times in order to get a feel for whether I want to revert to the “over the controls” mount.
Here are a collection of photos of this product.
I am going to try adding some thin sticky backed foam strips to the areas where this thing chafs on the controller and see how I get on with it.
Just thought I would post this review in case anyone else was wondering about one of these.
