Yeah I find them beneficial too, folk tend to keep back away from you. If I’m flying in the middle of Rannoch Moor/Glencoe it’s not something I’d put on, but in a city centre etc. I tend to wear it more often than not, particularly if it’s busy.

Wearing a hi-vis jacket lets you do anything. Like the Hatton Garden burglary. No-one paid the slightest bit of attention to what they were doing, because they looked like they were meant to be there.
Back some 34 years ago, I moved into a flat with my then girlfriend Li’l Kaz, and borrowed a van to do the move with. We’d done two ferrying trips by lunchtime, and worked hard, so lunch was called for, pub lunch.
So we trooped over to the nearest pub, place in Llanederyn, Cardiff, called The Retreat, rough old estate pub but good beer. As we walked up the pathway to the bar door, a bloke with a fruit machine on a sack truck was struggling with the sprung door, so Li’l Kaz, being a public spirited and helpful sort of girl, ran up and held the door open for him. He thanked her very much, and trundled the fruit machine to a white Transit, loaded it and the sack truck in, and drove off, in no great hurry and calm as you please. He had an entirely plausible set of green overalls on as well…
'Bout quarter of an hour later the 5-0 are all over the place, has anyone seen the miscreant who’d walked out with the fruit machine with a week’s takings, reckoned to be about £1,800. Nobody had of course, least of all Li’l Kaz, who didn’t even have the decency to blush!
I mean, he looked and behaved as if he was supposed to be there, utter confidence and looking the part. Brilliant, fair play to him, don’t approve of stealing stuff but this was about as near to a victimless crime as it gets…
I knew a bloke who used to do that in the 80s and also used to go to Rumblelows(not sure of spelling) and Radio rentals and say he was rotating the stock.
My mam used to run a halfway house for ex offenders leaving prison so there was all sorts of characters growing up I was even used to put my arm in letter boxes to gain entry into houses(yale locks) think I must have been around 8yo
What’s it like viewing wise outside in daylight? Do you have to shade the screen to see it clearly? Does the USB-C to USB-C cable allow the screen to mirror/display without any further settings being adjusted on the controller? Really like the idea of a separate display screen, and I already have the other hardware to hand.
I started using it the summer on the brightest days and had no issues at all. Although I did specifically pick my screen as it had a high NITS rating for brightness.
The usb C connection required no additional setup for me. Although it took me a while to realise that I had to wait till the RC2 was on, settled and connected to the drone before I connected the cable to it. Or it would occasionally crash the controller. I think it got confused trying to send two streams at the same time in setup.
Other than that had no issues.
I may consider at aome point adding a shade if I struggle, but I guess Id have to make my own. However the times Ive used it in the sun I was genuinely fine and its an exact mirror of what you see on the RC2 screen, except it isnt obviously touch sensitive.

So two interactions so far this week first one was a groundsman at a Rugby club🙄(thought he was the S#@T😂) told me I wasn’t aloud to use the field or fly through and around the posts when I asked him to explain why he stated it was private property so I asked if he had ever seen a game or played for the club as I’ve never met him he then made out that he knew me and not to film him so I told him that was the exact reason I was there🙄he wasn’t happy but walked off and watched only to return a few minutes later to apologise and sat and had a ciggy with me asking questions so I got out my tablet screen to show him so he could see what we all see in the goggles and he was hooked and even let him fly with the dildo(motion controller) and messed with his mind with headtracking.
Second interaction was on a village field with a cricket club member who was very anti drone and they had a sign/board with a statement saying no model aircraft and other history/info about the field

Said to the bloke the guy died in 2010 mate shall we go find him and dig him up and ask him what he thinks about me flying around the sky in an empty field it not like there’s a match/practice on eh I just laughed explained the difference between laws and bylaws/policies etc
He said if the police came and I was flying I would be in trouble to which I replied if you interrupt or interfere with a drone pilot while operating there Drone you would be in more trouble phone them on 101 and ask them before you phone other club members or committee and get them down causing grief/harassment to someone who’s fully legal and insured now please go away and let me get on(off he went with his tail between his legs)
I have now purchased said external monitor, not yet had a chance to play with it, first impressions are pretty good having just opened the carton and removed it from the protective sleeve.
