Public awareness of drones

Used mine the other night in a field, worked like a charm and helped me get this shot… Good luck with your set up

Just to update on matters re the external monitor being attached to an RC330 controller via the USB-C port - it won’t work. Just been checking on the DJI forum and there’s a post specifically about HDMI output from the RC330 and DJI have confirmed that it does not support that output from the controller … I now have a 15.6" display monitor that is rapidly being repurposed for HDMI output from a Canon camera :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Only the RC 2 has HDMI output :person_facepalming:

agree… confidence is everything… When i was a lift engineer I’d just go to reception or the manager’s office, even to new sites, and ask for the lift motor room keys and they would just give them to me! No questions asked.

only place different was the Bank of England where they would put as many obstacles in your was possible… even though they knew you were coming on a regular visit.

However everything would change if the bullion lift was out of order and then they almost drag you into the building!

I might consider the hi vis thing…

Did the hi viz idea, gain an traction?

Yes and no…

It was all going fine until we found how just how many different colours people may wish to choose from (yellow, orange, pink, black, etc).

Then how many different sizes of each one we’d need to purchase and keep in stock.

Five different colours, four different sizes, and ten of each suddenly becomes 200x hi-viz vests stacked up in boxes in the spare bedroom

We could probably narrow that down to just yellow, and maybe just two sizes (L + XL?) but is this what people would want?

An alternative may be for us to say, “Here’s our artwork file, here’s our recommended seller on eBay that has every size and colour under the sun, place the order there, upload the artwork file to your order, job done”. But is this what people would want?

@PingSpike I think the last option would work

Let’s hope the proofreading is a bit tighter :face_with_peeking_eye:

Would the clothing supplier not do them?
I assume they print the clothing to order

They do some rather unique items which we don’t feature on our shop:

Sadly, no hi-viz.

Oh I like the cooking apron :grinning:

I’ll go with that, as an option.

Can we get a QR code with the link to the rules?

Was that not a viable option for a QR code then?

What if the QR code took people to this section of the page? https://dronescene.co.uk/about#DroneCode

Please also consider the amount of printing space available, or the lack of.

Club name / logo, a QR code, some “authorised operator” or whatever wording we go with, there’s not that much room available to print on the back of a vest due to all the reflective stripes.

I’m also yet to find a firm who can print one design on the back and a different design on the front where a chest pocket would be

This is also a very viable option still, Jason :point_up:t2:

Makes sense.

Can I suggest we pick a different colour though, after being a daily hi-viz wearer for >25years, yellow tends to attract insects, hence why most have changed to orange.
