My 2m clear PVC pipe has just arrived from Manchester, waiting for the rest of the parts from Temu China to arrive so that I may begin the racing gates build for the night flying at the upcoming meet.
Going for the 1m RGB LED Battery strips, but if too bright will swop them over to the fairy lights i bought, will see which looks better at night once ive built them.
Costs so far:
PVC Clear Pipe 2m - 20mm OD - £67
PVC Clear 90D elbows - £34
PVC Clear T Joints - £9
LED Lights - £21
Total £131
£18 - per gate for 7 gates
Only thing I havent been able to work out is the best size for the square gates…
Ive worked on what most shops sell which is D of 78cm in circle shaped gates, my gates will be 70cm x 60cm
Thoughts on if they will be large enough?
Thanks
Lloyd

7 x £8 = £56
£131 / 7 = £18.71
Or was this a typo and you intended rounding to £18 per gate?
Shame I won’t be around to play with them.
Anything will go through the smallest of gaps if you are travelling fast enough ;o)

Fixed that thanks, previous excel cals working on another qty, thanks for the headsup
Really nice looking build In terms of sizes, I’ve done some practice with cheap hula hoops. The 45cm ones felt pretty tight - which is a bit mad when the quad is only 95mm! The 65cm ones are a breeze to rip through. Much fun.
Well all my parts arrived from china and I guess we can say I’m no good at maths as nothing is right, so I’ve reordered on amazon, hope to build the gates this weekend. The rest I’ll sell on ebay or make tiny whoop gates lol

Oh that sucks… measure once, order twice always seems to be a rule for me too!
Must confess I did wonder how the LEDs worked out so cheap for 7 gates of 60cm x 70cm - even at Temu prices!
