Hey everyone, I need some help with my new Radiomaster Boxer (ELRS) which I’ve owned only a few days. After just an hour of sim time, my roll gimbal has gone crunchy and loose. It no longer centers properly and leans to the right.
I haven’t opened it up yet because of the warranty sticker, but I suspect a tension spring has popped off or something inside has shifted.
Has anyone else had this happen, and would opening it void the warranty? Should I contact Radiomaster support, or is this an easy fix? Or should I just immediately request a replacement from the vendor?
(Apologies if this is not the correct place to pose this type of question please point me in the right
direction)
@SparkyFPV - Yes my urge to open it up and have a stab at it is strong… but this isn’t a cheap bit of kit and if something else goes wrong down the line, then I’ve blown my warranty opportunity. I’ve now contacted them and will wait to hear back! Thank you for your time
Fixed it! After HobbyRC said go ahead and try to do it (wont affect warranty) I decided to have a go. It was not to do with the spring, but the pin which i circled in white, which keeps the lever that the spring causes tension on. The pin came out and then the spring could not counter to anything hence the freedom of movement, i had to painstakingly move the black lever around whilst trying to put the pin back in until i finally managed it. That was a ball ache, but I’m back up and running. Meanwhile I did learn all about the tensiong and how to replace the gimbal, so all good!!
