I raised a support ticket with RadioMaster as my haptic motor is now constantly on.
(Not a wonderful week for equipment failures - whoop VTX stopped working now this! Frustrating!)
Any suggestions ?
@smudge202 Suggested taking it apart - but it £220 worth of controller. Not keen.
Good response from RadioMaster
Hi Brendan Sleight,
You can view the options for these several locations and take a photo for us to see.
- Press SYS and go to the GLOBAL FUNCTIONS page to see if there is any setting for Haptic.
2, press the MDL key, flip to the SPECIAL FUNCTIONS page, also see if there is no Haptic Settings here.
3, press the SYS key, turn to the RADIO SETUP page, find Haptic category, do not select All, change the option to select No keys.
Kind regards,
Radiomaster support team
Hi RadioMaster,
Thanks for quick response.
Cheaked all three steps and hepatic motor is still constantly on. (See photos)

Brendan
Hi Brendan Sleight,
Yes, there is nothing wrong with the setup, I think you can check from the following two aspects:
1, create a new model, and then see if it can be normal, sometimes the model file damage there are some wrong Settings can not be seen, may be caused by the model file internal parameters disorder. And a new model, if it still keeps vibrating, then you can look for problems from the hardware level.
- Open the back cover of the remote control and observe whether the screw is adsorped on the vibration motor and is just connected with other parts of the circuit, which will also cause the vibration motor to rotate.
Please open the remote control back cover and look at the vibration motor, or you can take a clear picture of the motherboard for us to see, if the above methods can not solve the problem, if within the one-year warranty period, we will replace the motherboard for you.
Kind regards,
Radiomaster support team
Love they using Oscars photos of the tear down and not their own!
They’ve told you to now. You never had it apart? I’ve had all three of mine apart (some on day of arrival, lol). Never had a zorro, but don’t think it’ll be any kind of issue!
Yeh, unlike normal consumer electronics, I think Radomaster kinda expects people to take their radios apart to be honest - lot of models out there require it for this and that tweak.
Looks like the haptic motor/spinner is encased so shouldn’t be anything jammed in it, going to have to check the board for bad circuits - let us see the pics, @bmsleight ! Love me some circuit troubleshooting

I think alot of manufacturers do, just due to the nature of the hobby.
Hi RadioMaster,
Nicely made controller inside.
- New model - still haptic motor on.
- I have removed back cover. No screw present or unusual connections. Photos attached, in case I have missed a detail.
Note just leaving the controller on, the haptic motor will occasionally be intermittent stopping and starting. Example video.
Without touching the controller. Start vibrating at 00:06. Stalling at 0:27, then continuing. Stops again at 0:41. This is an example haptic motor is on 95% of the time.
Purchase 09 April 2024 from Hobbyrc.co.uk - so I am presuming still under warranty.
Best Regards,
Brendan
