I also edited the title because a link doesn’t work well

“Modern drones available for sale to the public have software limiting their height to the legal maximum of 400ft”
No they fucking don’t!!!

“however, some people bypass this restriction using purchased software from the internet”
fuck me, more bullshit

“Modern drones available for sale to the public have software limiting their height to the legal maximum of 400ft, but this can be overridden by software patches purchased over the internet. Operators can also load on extra batteries so they can achieve greater heights.”

who actually writes this shite?

Fucking crettins

I am not saying this didn’t happen by the way. I’m commenting on the usual lazy bullshit, spunked out by some daft mofo in an office cos they don’t know what research is, or can’t be arsed.

“Gets popcorn ready” and waits for the “so called” helmet mounted camera video footage to be released into the public domain, so we can all take a look. Although the cynic in me thinks I’ll need an absolutely ma-hoosive box of said popcorn, as it will be a long wait for something that probably doesn’t exist. :person_shrugging:

Not a great advert for our defences against bad drones is it ?

I’m calling bullshit on this one

Me too Chris. After all it’s in the Daily Fail. Sensationalist headline… Coming next week, “Suspected drone in near miss with the ISS “, One of the people aboard the ISS reported seeing a Mavic 3 zooming past at 12,000 mph. Our investigative reporter investigates :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:
( In next months edition, A retraction, It wasn’t a Mavic 3, subsequent investigations reveal it was in fact a Mini 4 Pro ):rofl::rofl:

It could have been hard wired to a battery pack on the ground via 15000 feet of cable. lol

More to the point - if the RAF get so worried about a plastic, domestic, hobbyist drone … they’ll genuinely shit their collective pants when they see what a wartime military enemy can use!

Almost suggests that our air force just wouldn’t bother taking off if the enemy had a few of these DJI agri-drones …

Typical quality reporting. I do often wonder why journalists of this kind exist, chat GPT could probably do a better job for far less…

F35 costs ÂŁ85m approx

… drone costs probably £1 to £2k…

as seems to have been proved in Ukraine it ain’t the fast and fancy tech it’s a war of attrition with bombardment by munitions…

should have just bought 85 million drones instead… then no one flies in the sky… could have saved the other £2billion for the other fancy fighters then too

usual rules apply = pictures or it didn’t happen
