Ravenscraig Castle - Added to Beaches and Seaside Resorts in Scotland

I have just added this to the map of places to fly your drone at Drone Scene:

Land owner permission not required.

Ravenscraig castle and Kirkcaldy beach from a small bit of grass just behind the beach. You could fly the drone down on the beach but obviously there's more people there and you don't get a particularly better view.

The originator declared that this location was not inside a Flight Restriction Zone at the time of being flown on 24/08/2021. It remains the responsibility of any pilot to check for any changes before flying at the same location.

Be aware that Historic Enviroment Scotland don’t allow drone flights from their land and do ask for people to ask for permission via a form - however, plenty of places to set up on the beach etc on public land and fly over - just be sensible with timings - I have flown it a few times and wait until early evening when the castle is closed to avoid any conflict.

Hi @Tomo71, it looks as though you’re quite new here :wave:t2:

Why not nip over to the Introductions page, and say hello properly and tell us a bit about yourself. :+1:t2:
