I was on the Drone Safe Store web site the other day asking about their Air 3S and what category it was marked with, and the guy I was texting said it would come with a UK1 marking.
But like others have said here, if I did buy one from them and it was marked C1 it would be in the next return mail!
Isn’t it a requirement now that all drones sold in the UK from 1st Jan 26 must be marked with a UKx class mark? and not the euro Cx classification, I’m sure I read this somewhere in the rules.
Yes… Indeed. I would proffer a Drones batteries are an integral part of the ‘product’ As the Intelligent Plus batteries where withdrawn from sale in UK & EU some while ago I’d certainly expect their ‘re-introduction’ as part of this new Mini 5 Pro package to constitute a ‘New Product placed on the market’

Would a drone be then technically grounded unless they amend the rules between now and then to say you can either apply to reclassify the drone to a UK marking, or they extend the cut off point for flying C class drones beyond the end of 2027.
I really don’t fancy buying a 1.2k drone that’s only going to last 18 months…
I’m being pedantic here but C1 is a European Class, the ‘transitional arrangements’ for the new rules permit a European C1 Class drone to be flown with the same privileges & restrictions as a UK1 Class drone until 31 Dec 2027 after which time they will be regarded as ‘Legacy’ drones no longer flying under Class marks.
Someone here recently bought an Air 3S from London Camera Exchange which arrived with UK1 Class mark. So they are about. However, whilst things are changing there is clearly a mix of old and new stock being sold. So, I guess all one can do at present is contact any vendor with a ‘pre-sales’ call, make your requirement for a UK1 Class mark a prerequisite for any purchase & judge their response.

European C class marks from 1 January 2028
From 1 January 2028, you’ll no longer be able to fly a European C class aircraft as if it’s the corresponding UK class. It becomes a legacy aircraft and you’ll need to fly in the appropriate Open sub-category according to its
weight.
as mentioned on here and other posts about C1 drones at the start of 2028 - it will be a legacy drone - it wont be grounded - you can still fly it - it will have to do remote ID and you will basically be back to where it was before the new rules kicked in - so big open spaces or do the A2 CofC
but seeing as you can get the Air 3s with a UK1 mark on it - lets hope that both the CAA and DJI sort this mess out that C1 drones will still have the same freedoms moving into 2028 / 2029 etc as its just crazy to think that a stamp on a drone makes any diffrence - madness !
So an Air 3S with a C1 classification can fly in the A1 sub category on the 31st of Dec 27, but on the 1st Jan 28 it’s relegated to the A3 sub category unless you have an A2 CofC qualification in which case you can fly in the A2 sub category?
In either case you will have more restrictions placed on you from the 1st Jan 28 than you had on 31st Dec 27… lol.
This is a bit like telling classic car owners that they now need 2 MOT’s a year instead of none because their classic car has now become shockinly dangerous overnight!!!
Almost as crazy as the restrictions that changed on said model between 31/12/25 and 01/01/26 where you can fly it similar to a 249g

Yes, my conversations with DJI Sales concluded with them stating that, at the moment, the only way they could assure me of a UK1 Class badged Mini 5 Pro was to buy the ‘DJI Mini 5 Pro Fly More Combo Plus’ package direct from DJI’s main official UK online store
I guess that may change over time as more stock comes in
