Roa Island - Added to Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty in North West

I have just added this to the map of places to fly your drone at Drone Scene:

Land owner permission not required.

Parking is either on street or there is a free car park near the yacht club at the entrance to the peninsula.
Advise to use Dronscene/NATS to book a flight & to call 101 as there are plenty of NFZ’s around & the odd yokel asking if you’re ‘licensed’’ & ‘do you know what you’re doing’

The originator declared that this location was not inside a Flight Restriction Zone at the time of being flown on 29/04/2021. It remains the responsibility of any pilot to check for any changes before flying at the same location.

I’m new to this, so didn’t realise clicking “I want to fly here” would leave an automatic post nagging about takeoff and landing markers. Apologies!

We stayed in the house you can see to the right of the road, facing onto the sea, for a week in early summer. It is a stunning spot.

There were several drones active during the time we were there, and that’s what made me curious to get a drone for myself. Hoping to visit and fly this soon!
