Royal Naval Air Station Yeovilton, or RNAS Yeovilton, (HMS Heron) - Added to Everything Else in South West

I have just added this to the map of places to fly your drone at Drone Scene:

Land owner permission requirements unknown.

This is in a very active NFZ

There is a one hour layby from which to fly should permission be obtained.

You will attract the attention of the RNAS police or security so ensure that you have all your paperwork.

It is important to stay outside the base at the request of Air Traffic Control

Helicopters and planes will be in the sky with you, so stay alert.

The originator declared that this location was inside a flight restriction zone at the time of being flown. Permission to fly was obtained from RNAS Yeovilton. It remains the responsibility of any pilot to check for any changes before flying at the same location.

I gave them the correct coordinates in my application. I have been approved by the sme control tower in the past.

It was approved.

They called me yesterday morning to confirm.

They said no problem.

I wasn’t quite so sure when I had various helicopters taking off a bit further along and other aircraft.

I decided not to fly for too long!

Hi @Shabz, it looks as though you’re quite new here :wave:t2:

Why not nip over to the Introductions page, and say hello properly and tell us a bit about yourself. :+1:t2:

That’s what RNAS Yeovilton is all about! :slightly_smiling_face:

My point was that where I was flying was a matter of a short distance to aircraft flying!

I got your point.
