Boat in snowy flowerbed. Less abstract, more odd. Looks better in the spring. Crimbo tree lights went off as I was taking pic.

A bumper crop of pictures (38!) for this round - well done to everyone who braved the cold and the dark days to capture images for the competition.

As always you can vote for all, none, some or one of these entries. The poll closes at 22:00 on Monday 19th December

With a massive entry of 38 images and a wide variety of subjects presented as illustrating the theme of “Abstract” you must have had a hard time deciding of which one(s) to vote for. In the end we came to a tie for first place - and a tie for third!

The winners are:

In a tied third place was @D0c.Col with a strikingly colourful overhead shot of Ingestre Park Golf Club looking like an exhibit from MOMA or Tate Modern.

The second third-place winner (if that isn’t too confusing) was @clinkadink with another overhead in rather more muted colours. the meeting point of eight paths, a feature of the Capability Brown designed beech-lined Grand Avenue in the Savernake Forest, still striking after two centuries:

And then two first-place winners, @Kings with this intriguing view of Leeds University car park:

and this deceptively simple-looking shot of trees in the Chilterns between Great Missenden and Wendover from @geoff

So congratulations to Geoff, Jim, Colin and Chris; for the thirty-four who haven’t been mentioned, our commiserations, you submitted some excellent and imaginative shots that captured the “Abstract” theme perfectly - let’s see what you can do with the competition that takes us through the darkest days of December to New Year’s Eve - Churches

Sadly time got the better of me for this one and I never got round to doing what I actually wanted to do. I don’t think it would have mattered anyway. Great to see so many high quality entries. The RTF has really stepped up since the birthday challenge.
