RTF Competition January 21st to February 3rd 2024 - Shadows - Winners announced

It seems to be a quiet time of year both for contestants and voters. Our colleagues on the “Hall of Fame” desk have been sitting in the canteen with no work to do and spending their time complaining. At least we here on this side of the competitions offices the RTF and FAFEC staff have something to do.

It is getting toward the end of the financial year and it appears that both national and local government weather budgets have been spent, hence the succession of grey days we have experienced. It seems that from next week the heating will get turned back down again :frowning:

Still - to more exciting matters - our top three from our small but select band of contributors:

In third place with the skeletal ribs of an early airship hangar is @Stomper - Nigel - who sought permission from Farnborough Air Traffic Control to take the shot within the airfield’s FRZ. In our experience ATCs are normally very helpful when it comes to polite requests from drone pilots

Second place goes to another of our regular competitors - Jason - @Acedrone with a floodlit evening shot of footballers on a nicely striped pitch in Northampton:

We have a clear winner in John Parsons - @StunningDrone who, if our records are correct, is a first-time winner in the RTF competition with a great overhead picture of the stones of Stonehenge and the visitors who braved the cold casting long shadows in the mid-afternoon sun.

Congratulations to John, Jason and Nigel and an honourable mention to new entrant @Danstone454 - no Christian name - to @geoff - Geoff - and to Martin - @MartG1960 - for braving the winter weather and submitting images for the competition.

Let’s hope for better weather for the next round - Angular which can be found here
