Like I said mate, no worriesš
@PitchFader. Sorry mate, donāt know how that quote appeared ![]()
Sorry @Leylo1971 ady mate, actually was not planned, not going off topic I went out to test the van as it might hopefully not tho have a diesel leak & thought Iāll take the drone with me, but the only reason I took the drone was because at the wkd I was getting crap satellite lock ( not as many as usual ) so thought Iād test the drone at the same time, satellite lock was still rubbish so I was about to abort mission, when I remembered reading somewhere try calibrating compass can usually fix gps lock which I did, then satellite lock was quick & high up in the numbers otherwise I would have not done the flight, not there anyway !
Ahh satellite lock. At home ( outside) usually takes mine a few minutes till itās got enough satellites. However, last year in Scotland it was finding enough satellites within 10 seconds , strange
No need for sorry mate, yer snooze yer looseā¦I snoozed.
Hope the vans ok mateā
. Bloody hate cars/vans, just had to replace the Rav4ā¦turbo on its way out. It is what it isā
.
Sat lock I would ney worry about. As long as your getting into double figures I wouldnāt worry about how many. I find I can have difficulty sometimes with the 2S. Once I get double figures (around 12/13), I launch, let hover, Sat count goes up quicker and gain home point.
Iāll launch on 5 or 6 sometimes, depending on where I am. I know once launched the sats connect quicker, so once I get home point jobs a goodān
.
With a Wrangler at long last Ady mate?? ![]()
Hahaā:rofl:. I wished mate. I applied for a second mortgage to buy one but the computer said NO Rich ![]()
.
Just got a lowely Honda Crv. Love it. Itās the ex version so has a lot of creature comforts⦠Itās a proper Dads carš¤£
THIS IS MY ENTRY
Taken on the 16th Jan at 3.36pm
Zebon copse south west of Fleet in Hampshire.
DJI Mini 2, 1/100s shutter speed, ISO 100:
A bit more info:
This was taken looking down at a mirror resting on top of a litter bin at the top of the copse, details from airdata:
height_above_takeoff(feet) : 5.25
height_sonar(feet) : 1.6
gimbal_pitch(degrees) : -89.9
It was hovering as low as the sensor would allow it to go without starting to land, original raw file cropped to remove the edges of the mirror.

Intriguingly no-one seems to have been bothered by the nearly two-day delay. Has RTF run its course of, as the weather warms, are we likely to see a revival?
Anyroadup, here is the official result. We seem to have managed not one, not two but three second places so congratulations to @Stomper - Nigel - who got his Mini 2 to take its self-portrait:
Congratulations to Guy = @speedracer66 for a colourful view under the bridge supporting the A329M:
And congratulations again to to @geoff - Geoff - for his shot underneath an observation wheel in Milton Keynes with a crisp blue winter sky as a background.
Standing out in first place is Jim = @Kings - with a view of colourfully lit arches in Leeds. Well done to him especially and to all who contributed to an excellent and varied set of pictures!
Iām still very much up for it - although I may not have a day when Iām free - and healthy - and the sunās out and Iām in the UK during the āshadowsā time window.
I still enjoy it, itās just that the weather has ben so bad recently, I havenāt got out much.
Yep as above, love the RTF itās great fun, as above the weather has really not helped ![]()
Ditto!
As above! Itās good fun.
Definitely not run its course for me⦠only New Yearās resolution for 2024 was to do more RTF entries. Just scuppered with the weather and short days this month ![]()
I really enjoy the RTF , like the others I struggled with the weather last few times ![]()
