It seems that the next round - Lakes - is causing controversy with no one really knowing how to define a lake - and that seems true for the hydrologists too!
No such problems with red, each image contained enough colour to warrant being included in this thread. The three that you have voted as outstanding though are these:
In third place we would have had @msgyorkie #s grading machine, contrasted against the mud at Frimstones quarry, Crimplesham, Norfolk.
But we are sorry to say, Mark, that there is a tie for second place so your third place is kind of honorary. Very well done though!
So who tied for the honour of second? First-time entrant @Leylo1971 who had travelled a few miles from Wigan to Crosby for a night shot of the E.ON Liverpool bulk terminal
and relative newcomer @Stomper with the ICC Red Dragon over the Welsh border- and a fair distance from his home in Fleet, Hants. Congratulations to both Ady and Nigel.
The runaway winner though was long-serving contestant @Acedrone with a great shot of the Virgin hot air balloon being blown toward him by the distant fans at Yelvertoft wind farm:

A bit of luck and being in the right place at the right time helped.
Great job by every one my favorite was ICC Red Dragon by @Stomper , i would love to do a 360 video of the Dragon , maybe the next time i’m in Wales
