Please post only one image, the image you wish to be judged, in this thread.

Voting

The members of GADC will judge images. They may vote for any number of pictures through an anonymous poll open for two days after the closing date for competition entries.

Voting in the poll is open to all GADC members, whether they have entered the competition or not.

You may vote for one, all, some or none of the entries.

The judges may request the original media in case of a dispute.

Schedule

The competition subject will be announced every second Saturday around 22:30. The subject will be chosen by a poll of GADC members selecting from three that have been picked at random from the subject list. You may make additions to the list at any time.

The competition will run from Sunday 00.01 to Saturday 23.00 fourteen days later. Voting by poll will be open for a further two days until Monday 22:00

The winner, second and third-placed competitors will be announced shortly after the vote is closed

Have Fun! Be Safe!

All flights are the sole responsibility of the individual conducting them. Each competitor must abide by the drone code and adhere to the limitations and restrictions imposed upon them by aviation law, the aircraft being used and the qualifications they hold. Do not fold, spindle or mutilate. If a flight is undertaken in a restricted zone proof of permission having been granted is required.

There is an old tradition in the theatre that, if the cast members outnumber the people who have turned up to see the play, the performance is cancelled …

People seem happy to vote for a subject but not willing to take the pictures of that subject for voting on a fortnight later.

How do we change the situation - or do we realise that we have better things to do than spend each Saturday night running competitions?

Some have to wait and thinking about it im sure this could be turned into a meet but i don’t have the patience to organise it however if someone @group-eastmidlands wants to do it feel free

Crack the whip and get em to get off their sorry asses to go fly😁.

I mean, it is what it is. If it’s coming to an end, the RTF, it’ll be sad. It gets me off me arse most of the time, this morning about 4 A bloody M in order to get blue hour and find we’re I could park without being snagged for a ticket.

If it does go down the swanny, I for one will thank you guys for giving your Satdy nights away, because of the places I’ve had to think of, the better the flying I’ve got and you can’t forget what’s done in post.

:+1::+1:

Edit. Maybe introduce a leader board with points for 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Points win prizes at the end of the year, GADC goodies or what not. Maybe points tallies would av to only be disclosed at the end, as not to induce vote rigging and stuff :person_shrugging:

Now that’s a shout you could also introduce a regional board(Postcode war)
There’s a difference between a Challenge and a Competition

DJI mini 4 pro
3rd Dec 24

Scarborough South Bay, boats with Xmas lights.

As far as the RTF future goes… I love it. This time of year its quite normal to get no more than 1 flying day a fortnight due to the weather and short days but that doesnt mean I dont want to go out. I bought a mini 4 pro with better low light performance compared to my Mini 2 SE so I could do dusk and dawn shots too. Its the RTF that keeps me giving it a go.

Its a challenge not a competition and it doesnt bother me who wins, its just great seeing different takes on a topic.

Heres a typical week. Tonight was the first night in 10 days I could fly.

  • Frimley
  • 5.00pm 3rd December
  • DJI Mavic Air
  • First attempt at flying at night and shooting images, taken looking towards Johnsons Wax who are located in Frimley and onwards towards Farnborough, the Farnborough Airport FRS begins at the far end of the Johnsons Wax site. I did employ Lightroom noise reduction on this image to remove some of graininess in the image, hope this was allowable! I have been inspired now to take more night time images/video with the drone, thank you for the challenge!

lol know what you mean i went out with the neo the other day to find them search light and ended up stood like a bellend in a field freezing my arse off with a drone that really is scared of the dark only to take a crappy pic as everything else came out blurred so I’ve learnt a lesson here lmfao

Hurry! Just a two-day poll to choose the winner of this round - subject LIGHTS. You can vote for any one image up to 22:00 Monday 9th of December

@group-challenges

I wanted to do this one but between work, weather and stuff going on at home I didn’t get a chance.

I suspect I’ll skip the next one, too. I spent a couple of years commuting on trains and despise everything about them.

And we have a winner—with voters outnumbering entrants four to one! Liverpool Docks have changed greatly since I was a lad (as have most docks around Britain). It looks as if they have scrubbed up well, though, at least in the interesting image created by habitual contestant and consistent winner Ady @Leylo1971.

Congratulations to him and thanks to all five who took the trouble to find a little light in the darkness and brave the weather to capture it!

Let’s hope, if Darragh has disappeared, we will have more entries for Railway Architecture

It’s the only way of making progress😁.

Many thanks to all who voted for us👍.

Also, congrats to the rest who entered, getting out there in the cold and darkness an havin a little fly :+1:

Now, railway architecture…
