The Challenge Committee may request the original media in case of a dispute.

The competition subject will be announced every second Saturday around 22:30. The subject will be chosen by a poll of GADC members selecting from three that have been picked at random from the subject list. You may make additions to the list at any time.

Have Fun! Be Safe!

All flights are the sole responsibility of the individual conducting them. Each competitor must abide by the drone code and adhere to the limitations and restrictions imposed upon them by aviation law, the aircraft being used and the qualifications they hold. Grim’s Graves

Grim’s Graves is the largest prehistoric flint mine in the UK and the only one of its kind open to the public. Located in Norfolk, it consists of a “lunar landscape” of over 400 pits and shafts dug into the chalk by Neolithic people around 4,500 years

I think Im going to graciously pass on this one, Ive decided to life/work/motivation struggles at the moment that Im going to pack away the drone and my camera for the foreseeable

Best of luck everyone for this theme and subsequent challenges

Sorry to hear that you are struggling Tim @Jabtas.

I’m just not convinced that giving up something you enjoy is the answer. As we withdraw from things/people/situations, life has a habit of closing in around us. If, on the other hand, we keep pushing at the edges of our comfort zones, we create more space for ourselves to thrive.

All the best whatever you decide. I’ve enjoyed your entries in these challenges.

We don’t want to lose you Tim!

Life and work can dominate or demotivate. Giving up something you enjoy often makes things worse. There has been little opportunity to fly this year, why not make a pact with yourself that you will go out when the spring sunshine arrives and fly a few minutes just for fun.

Obviously your personal circumstances are unknown to us, from personal experiences we understand how hard it is to cope alone. Please stay in touch and if you want to chat then please do so - either here or by private message.

Morecambe Promenade.

Taken at 09:58 on 02/04/26

Taken with a Potensic Atom 2 in 8K photo mode

This will be (?) the home to Eden Project Morecambe. The site was originally home to the Super Swimming Stadium then Bubbles, an EU funded monstrosity, then the Dome theatre and when that closed, it left a hole in the promenade (the shadows show the depth). Until last week, Taylors travelling fair used set up in the hole but with the imminent ( ) arrival of Eden, they set up for Easter on land beside the hole. You may be able to tell that I’m a when-it-happens believer in the project which so far has only spent millions on consultants.

Bow Fiddle Rock, Portknockie, Moray.
DJI Mavic 2 Zoom.
Today at 14.57.

The whole northern coastline along Moray and Aberdeenshire is full of great sites, with cliffs, tiny fishing villages, harbours and more. Bow Fiddle Rock is one of the most interesting features of them all.

Beware the gulls if you bring your drone here!

When thinking of holes, I first thought of quarries, but there are few near me, so I decided on golf holes, as there many near me. I initially thought of Moor Park Golf course which has a grade 1 listed neo Palladian mansion as a club house. Unfortunately I could not get near enough. However this photo is of the first hole with golfers at Northwood Golf Club.

Interested to see what other holes appear,

Peter

It has long been an ambition of mine to see the Kelpies. The sculptures, by Andy Scott, are made up of hundreds of steel plates welded together but leaving spaces in between to give a feeling of movement and texture. The holes also allow coloured lights to shine through the structures from the interior at night giving an impressive effect. I know that they have been photographed many many times but it was thrilling to see them up close today. They are based on real Clydesdale horses named Duke and Baron.

  • Location - Kelmarsh Tunnels, Northamptonshire
  • Time and date - 30th March, 19:05
  • Aircraft/camera used - Mavic 4 Pro

These tunnels are disused train tunnels on a line that used to run from Northampton to Market Harborough. Recently, they were used in the latest Peaky Blinders film too.

What you see here is a top down of the middle part of the tunnel which extends up like a chimney out of a field that the tunnel passes under. The tunnel is 480m in length.

St Mary’s shell
Is a stainless steel sculpture on Cleveleys beach.

“The complex Conch shell is another visual prop to the ‘Sea Swallow’ story, set along Wyre’s Mythic Coast. Mary is the hero of the story and her adventure to save the town from a devastating tsunami depended on capturing the Golden Shell from the Sea Ogre in his lair, down in the great Lune Deep. The shell disappears twice daily with the tide.” Courtesy of Art.uk
