Have Fun! Be Safe!

All flights are the sole responsibility of the individual conducting them. Each competitor must abide by the drone code and adhere to the limitations and restrictions imposed upon them by aviation law, the aircraft being used and the qualifications they hold. This is where a trite aphorism or lame quip is normally inserted. If a flight is undertaken in a restricted zone proof of permission having been granted is required.

Chepstow Castle, begun in 1067, is one of Britain’s oldest stone castles. Perched on limestone cliffs above the River Wye, its long walls, towers, and courtyards reflect its intended role as a Norman border fortress controlling movement and defending the England–Wales crossing.

That was going to be my entry as well, so it looks like it will have to be the Elephant and castle instead

come on Ian - see if you can do something better than my submission - its called a challenge for a reason mate - still go and get some shots - even if you don’t submit it and go for Elephant and Castle - need to look that up as I was racking my brains to where to go - Ashby is the closest castle to me but it’s not really possible to fly there due to its location - Think Colin has flown there though and a few others but I was looking for an easy haha - Kenilworth was a bit too far for today and I had things I needed to do in Tamworth.

Or build your own castle.

Location - Conway Castle (North Wales)

Time and date - 21:20 on 8th May 2026

Aircraft/camera used - DJI Mini 4 Pro

Conway Castle was built around 740 years ago by Edward I. There are so many great castles in North Wales. For anybody who likes castles and hasn’t been it’s an absolute must!

I always look at these RTF challenges but never manage to find the time to do them. This theme combined with a weekend away in the land of castles seemed like fate to finally post something! Unfortunately, we got there much later than intended so it was a lot darker than I hoped. My wife had plans other than taking pictures of castles with drones today so it’ll have to do!
