Time to chose the winner(s)!
Pick up to three of your favourite images and do so before the poll closes at 22:00 on Monday, March 3rd.
I’ve shot a few cycle races there over the years. Public roads is strictly accurate, but a bit of a stretch.
And our three winners are:
In third place it’s nice to see Andy - @rustybarnet - taking an active part in RTF again with his nighttime picture of the somewhat troubled Postwick Interchange on the outskirts of Norwich.
Second place is claimed by Richard - @Kirky - with a picture of Starveall Road, Aldworth, Reading.; a town that has several intriguing street names including the infamous name shared by several towns for their red light districts, Grope**** Lane.
Our winner this round is Mike - @LordEdam - with a picture of the road leading up to the Stwlan Dam that holds back the water that provides the power for the Festiniog hydroelectric power station. Water is electrically pumped up to the reservoir during off-peak periods and released to drive generators when demand for electricity peaks.
The road is apparently closed to motor traffic other than electricity company vehicles. The eight hairpins and steep rise in its two mile length make it a challenging cycle route, the cafe at the bottom of the road provides some compensation however!
Congratulations to out top three and thank you to the eleven of you who took the trouble to enter. Does any one have any ideas as to how we can convert our non-participating voters into competitors? ![]()
Nice to be back, and to somehow scrape through with a podium! ![]()
