Middle bridge - Telford’s 1826 suspension bridge, one of the first road suspension bridges in the world, built around the same time as the larger Menai suspension bridge to aid travel from Chester to Holyhead
Left bridge - Stephenson’s tubular rail bridge, opened in 1849 to carry the Chester to Holyhead railway. This bridge was the proof that Britannia bridge over the Menai straits could be built using the same methods.
Right bridge - the 1958 road bridge. As car traffic increased the still functioning suspension bridge was deemed unsafe due to the sharp bend around the castle so it was replaced with a concrete road bridge instead.

Jeeeeez there all flooding in today
Indeed, 335 hours in which to do it and they flood in during the last couple of hours before the deadline!
Worry not your the man !
Yes, but it would be nice to have a Saturday night to myself sometime - I 've been doing this for four and a half years …
ENTRY IS NOW CLOSED
Sorry
A bumper crop of pictures this time around, it’s almost like getting back to the old days!
Let’s hope loads of people vote as well - they have until 22:00 on Monday, March 17th to do so and can vote for all, some, none or one of the images. So get voting!
I just realised I stated the wrong location on mine!
This is actually the old severn crossing, not the new one one that I labelled it as - it doesn’t help I visited both of them that day.
Interesting - 19 participants, 22 voters. Normally we have far more supporting from their armchairs than out flying their drones
If you want to be a winner get yourself out toward sunrise or sunset - or so it seems this time around. Our three top places are all occupied by images taken during the golden hour. And those images are:
In third place - a very new newcomer - @AltitudeWales with a picture of the original Severn bridge, and, despite the proud Welsh user name, taken from the English side
In second place another well-kent bridge, this time looking toward the south bank of the the Forth estuary and taken by the equally well-kent John Carroll - @Drumsagard
And top place goes to another early riser, no stranger to the winners’ circle - Ady - @Leylo1971 with a picture of the relatively new Mersey Gateway Bridge, opened in 2017 and linking Runcorn and Widnes:
Big thanks to all who entered and congratulations to our three winners!
The next round - Wrecked Boats - is here
Wow, that’s a nice little surprise, .
Some stiff competition there, some great edits, congrats to all!
Now, where’s them boats…
Good choice, that is a cracking picture.
Well done Ady @Leylo1971 and @AltitudeWales and everyone else who entered, a great set of images all round! Ady’s photo did get my top vote, a deserved winner, congrats again
