Scammer on DJI website

Last night I downloaded DJI flight simulator to try it out…DJI Flight Simulator - DJI

Well, it’s utter crap !
Shows Mavic pro as one of the drones , but will only give me a Mavic Pro 2, and my Mavic Pro controller will not recognise it.

So I gave up and uninstalled it all.

However…

5 hours later I receive this email. :scream:

I know anoushka is one of your passwords. Lets get straight to the point. No person has paid me to check you. You don’t know me and you are most likely thinking why you’re getting this e-mail?

Let me tell you, i placed a software on the X videos (porn material) web site and do you know what, you visited this site to experience fun (you know what i mean).
While you were watching videos, your browser initiated operating as a Remote control Desktop having a keylogger which gave me access to your display and also webcam.

Just after that, my software program gathered your entire contacts from your Messenger, FB, and email . after that i created a double video.
First part shows the video you were viewing (you’ve got a fine taste omg), and next part shows the view of your web camera, & its you.

You have got just two possibilities. We should read these types of possibilities in aspects:

Very first choice is to just ignore this e-mail. in this situation, i will send your very own tape to all of your personal contacts and imagine about the awkwardness yo u will see. and definitely in case you are in a loving relationship, just how it is going to affect?

Next option is to pay me USD 886. Lets refer to it as a donation. Subsequently, i will instantly discard your video footage. You will resume your daily routine like this never took place and you surely will never hear back again from me.

You will make the payment via Bi‌tco‌in (if you do not know this, search ‘how to buy b‌itcoi‌n’ in Google search engine).

B‌T‌C‌ ad‌dre‌ss to send to: 1DG8pnwK9vdevHjB1nfDQRUmyYVJyPQNf9
[case-SeNSiTiVe copy and paste it]

if you may be thinking about going to the law, well, this email can not be traced back to me. I have taken care of my moves.
i am also not looking to charge a fee very much, i just like to be compensated. pay%}. if i do not receive the ‌bi‌tco‌in‌, i definitely will send your video recording to all of your contacts including membe rs of your family, coworkers, and many others.

However, if i do get paid, i will erase the video right away. If you really want proof, reply Yea and i will certainly send your video to your 5 contacts. it’s a non:negotiable offer that being said don’t waste my personal time & yours by replying to this email.

anoushka is my DJI password.
This is the only website that I have that password for.

There is obviously a scammer / hacker working on that DJI website, so don’t be tempted to try out the flight simulator program…:cold_sweat:

I have sent the email to … Report a phishing attempt | Action Fraud … but I don’t expect much or any response from them.

This site is useful:

DJI still have some work to do …

That’s strange, I downloaded this when it first came out and have only used it a handful of times, I must admit the trial version is not the best and might appeal more if I was a bit of a gamer, but I’ve not done that for a few years now and wasn’t into that big anyway.
I just had a look and I can choose, Spark, Mavic Air, Mavic Pro, Mavic 2 Zoom, Phantom 4 Pro and Inspire 1 Pro.
I hope you have done a scan of your computer and changed your password for something far more secure now.

Your details may have been harvested months ago Dave

Probably :open_mouth:
Just a coincidence it happened today Ha Ha.

There has been a massive increase in these “personalised scam” emails going round, but the fact you have said that’s the password only used for your DJI account (I assume you’ve now changed it?), it sounds like DJI have got to own up to it soon enough…

My grandad recently was targeted with a similar scam, but I suspect the password was found in the LinkedIn breach in 2016!

:grinning:
I am waiting for that video of me … I don’t have a webcam
and I don’t have Messenger … or Instacrap … or FaceSlap … or Twitter :innocent:

I wouldn’t lose sleep over it, change your password as a precaution which is about the only thing you need to do if not already done.
I’ve seen these sorts of emails before and they are a load of tosh, you can safely ignore it. I had a similar thing happen about 2 years ago and I don’t have a web cam and not on facesnaptwatweet, or whatever they are all called.

Yeah you’ll be waiting a while… (doesn’t exist )

I had the kindly Nigerian bank manager letter offering me $ 50 million when I was on Linked-in two years ago.
Linked-in was immediately dumped.
The internet is more dangerous than a week’s holiday in Somalia.

There’s a lot of phone scams at the moment I just play along now
Most often my machines full of viruses so I open the windows ( I have a Mac)
Fun to hear a heavily accented Asian person getting annoyed

Also Bt phone calls and my broadband will be disconnected in the next 24 hrs

I have told my 94 year old dad to just ignore them plus all his accounts are now transferred to me as I got power of attorney with his agreement save for later if or when his health deteriorates

Firstly make sure your anti virus software is up to date and do a full system scan.

If you dont have any anti virus theres plenty of free ones …

AVG is pretty good

Next check your system for keyloggers or hacker programs with this

Mailware will deep scan your pc for any nasties and its free…

lastly ignore the email you received … do not respond to it in any way ……there only trying there luck …. they probably sent out thousands… if only 1 responds then it was worth there while.

PS. I’m still waiting for my £213 million from the Nigerian prince that recently contacted me ….

Quite frightening. My details have been leaked on 5 seperate ocassions now.

2FA is the only way to have any sort of security these days.
