Shirburn Castle, strange tale

Shirburn Castle video which has been fun to edit, if somewhat delayed. Shot it in March 23. It’s near Watlington in Oxfordshire just under the Chilterns, but not open to the public, so this is the only way to see it. There’s a strange history to it. It looks well kept, but inside is derelict: handedon.wordpress.com/2011/05/30/shirburn-castle-oxfords…
and an urbex raid in 2012 reveals the then state of the interior: www.28dayslater.co.uk/threads/shirburn-castle-july-2012.7…

Nice one, that’s facinating. Incredible building.

Thanks, sad story, you’d have thought the family would would sort it out, but it’s been going on for years. You wouldn’t know it’s there from the road.

That’s my next location sorted
I thought you’d pin it to drone scene Bruce :+1:

It’s a bit of a stretch from the footpath, so I’ll leave people to make their own decisions. It’s at the end of a cul-de-sac from the road, but I wouldn’t want to fly from there.

Many thanks. I had a first flight there back in May 22 with the trees in full leaf, but in a way, the winter trees here in March 23 are more interesting. One from the earlier shoot.

You can see Shirburn Hill on the Chilterns ridge to the left, another favourite spot. I was up there a week ago when all below was shrouded in mist - must get them edited.
