I printed off a “riser” for the top glass panel of the Bambu Labs X1carbon and installed some LED strips into it.
This is what it looks like from the inside,
What it looks like from the oiutside with just the in-built light on (glass door and lid is smoked)
and with the new LED strips turned on
Just a small difference!!

Complete suprise to me, I was honestly gobsmacked when i opened my birthday prezzie from the kids to find this.
I bought the P1P last week, love it, and have made a case for mine, and also have the top lights now
Not missing the Creality Ender 3 S1 Pro and it’s constant bed levelling fiasco.
Managed to get this on the sale too, and 2 free spools of PLA-CF
I hear it’s quite loud?
I’m still on the fence on getting one, I’d have to get rid of my other 2 for room though.
Not at all, I heard it was too, but it is far quieter than my Ender 3 S1 Pro
That’s some damn pressie Jay

Just a bit. Its awsome.
This is my ender 3, It doesn’t look super modified buts is direct drive, upgraded 32 bit control board, Silent steppers, Raspberry Pi hidden down the back.
I orginally got it so that I could 3D print drone / remote control car parts (as when I was trying to get the car way over 100mph I would frequently come in with it broken) but I ended up not having printed any parts for RC cars but I did spend quite a lot of time printing newer and lighter drone frames for the more toy like JJRC drones for myself and others when they broke as we used to fly them around our office at lunch times, super useful tool to have around.
I did for a couple of years use it to print toys to send to children in places that have very little things like Fexi Rexi and some of my own own designs like a print in place toy dump truck. I eventually want to get to the point where I have the time and skills to use it to print parts for childrens prosthetics Meet the engineer 3D-printing bionic prosthetic limbs for kids in need | Personal Investments | The Guardian
Is there a UK equivalent? Limbitless appears to US children only.
truth be told I have no idea, I am not sure that I would be the person to do the whole 9 yards on it in terms of the modling etc but I would be willing to print and ship for a cause like it one day! I am hoping that it there is a team that does it if not now but by the time I can do it.
I only asked as it seems like a damn worthy cause doesnt it. If there was a place where 3D modelers could register then the company could send them the .stl files that they need based on thier abilities. Even if like me you only have a small printer, printing fingers and small parts would not be an issue. Seems like a bloody great idea.
Absolutly, the story of how it all started was a really moving one and something that I would gladly throw my time and energy at.
Having said that when I spent lots of time printing toys to send as part of shoebox appeals is some of the most fun I have had with my 3D printer. it was really quite fun to have an army of tiny flexi rexis and trucks on my desk.
I do hope to get flying more often though and use it for printing frames that can be recycled when I break them as much as possible.
