Silly newby question for Dji flyers - How do people look after their batteries between flights

Do you keep on hub powered up? Keep in hub in flight nag? Remove from hub and store separately. I notice that when I got my mini 2 it recommends discharging to 40% if leaving for more than 10 days. Do you do that and if so how.

I normally put mine on charge when I get home after flying then put away in my bag ready for next time however I noticed yesterday when I powered up after a week in bag they had depleted about 10%.

So what is the best way to keep in tip top condition and maintain battery health.

Btw I usually change batteries in the drones when down to between 20 - 30%, still a nervous flyer.

They are called ‘intelligent’ because it is built in to them to self discharge. Best plan is to charge them the night before.

As above - the DJI batteries will discharge themselves down to a safe storage level if they’re left for a number of days. They can be left for months like that with no damage. So when you want to use them, you need to remember to charge them up first - I usually put them on charge the day before, as it takes a while to charge all three in the hub.

I’m using mine at least every other day, never sat more than 2 or 3, so they’re either charging at home or in ‘flameproof’ LiPo bag, or in the drone!

It doesn’t matter where you store them

If you are not using them charge to around 50-60% (2 lights)

They are smart battery’s so if fully charged and not used they will self discharged to 60% or so

Don’t store them discharged or charged is the best practice

Thanks for all your replies. I think I have a better understanding of these batteries now.

I always store them in a lipo bag when not in use.
