Singing Ringing Tree - Burnley - Added to Everything Else in North West

I have just added this to the map of places to fly your drone at Drone Scene:

Land owner permission not required.

Car park is nearby. Is exposed so can be windy. One of the Panopticon series sculptures.

Path is rough so limited access for wheelchair users.

Edit: spot the numpty who forgot it’s now 2022…

The originator declared that this location was not inside a Flight Restriction Zone at the time of being flown on 04/01/2022. It remains the responsibility of any pilot to check for any changes before flying at the same location.

I want to fly here @Datmandan, have you got any tips or advice on where to park or take off from?

I’ve flown here too @Datmandan

Hi @Darwinsdad, it’s a short walk from the nearby car park so it easy to get to, if you look on a map the car park is easy to spot. When the area has been deserted I’ve just took off from the small table that is next to the structure. It can get pretty windy so may be worth checking the wind forecast before you set-off.

Cheers :+1:

Remember the new feature of Drone Scene is you can now edit the original location with TOAL and Parking markers, this will greatly help other flyers

Ah I hadn’t spotted that update. I will have a look!

Must admit, I was a little underwhelmed when I arrived here, was quite a bit smaller than the image I had in my head. At least it was reasonably clear with a good view of Stoodley Pike in the far distance (as the crow flies, the Pike is almost the halfway point from the Singing Ringing Tree to the place I was born and raised)
