Stayed at a lovely Airbnb in Acaster Malbis near York this weekend and managed to get the drone up just before a NFZ kicked in.

Just checked the map, looks like it clips the edge of a new airfield FRZ.
There’s only East Leeds (old RAF Church Fenton)
I assumed on that river meander that clips through the FRZ to the south there but goodness knows.
Not seeing any NOTAMs either if it were a temporary thing.

Struggling with this one, what NFZ was kicking in?
Apologies everyone I meant a NOTAM not a NFZ🫣 oh well at least it got people talking lol.
Whilst I’m here can someone please help me understand the NOTAM further. It states that it is active from 1045 on the 14th May until 1415 on the 15th May. The schedule however states 1045-1545 on the 14th May and 0915-1415 on the 15th.
Does this mean that outside those times I would have been ok to fly ie. 1800hrs on the 14th

Yep NOTAMs only apply to the times/dates they’re listed for and usually for specific events or operations. People requesting NOTAMs are supposed to minimise the time they request them for so as to minimise airspace disruption for other users.

Great video! …but one of the most obscure ‘NOtice To Air Missions’ (not Men, any more!) I have ever seen. Very wordy just to say there were air races on
