Snow capped fells above Ribblehead Viaduct

The penultimate drone flight of the early Mach weekend Dales trip, a short stop at the iconic Ribblehead Viaduct on the Settle to Carlisle railway line, with snow atop the fells!

This is a place I have long wanted to fly, but given we had already flown 4 locations on this day and it was perishing cold I only flew a short flight here before we moved on to ur final flying location of Caton Moor…

Yes, there is more that I could have done - and will do in future - with this location, but on the day it was what we had the time and energy to capture, perhaps next time it will be the main focus of a trip rather than an added extra location to the day…

Thanks… there is soo much more to do with the site, but on the day being tired and cold and unning out of flying time it was enough for this video

Great footage, did you walk up to it? I would love to walk under it

Thanks… on thaT visit I didnt make the walk, it was cold and was it was getting on for hometime, this was our fourth flying location of the day and I was getting weary, hence no walk and only a fly around rather than flying underneath and closer…

Its just under 2 hrs from here, so a return visit is likely

If you check Rail Advent website it will tell you when steam hauled trains are due to cross the viaduct. Then check Real Time Trains for exact timing. You can then get an even more spectacular video, but probably not with snow!

Thanks… I was there a year or three ago when a steam loco crossed the bridge, pre-drone era in my case - which would be wesome to capture, but I think it may be a drone traffic jam if we were to attempt to fly it when the steam trains cross… Worth a go though…
