Good result, well done.
look forward to the full blog on it later
The return of Frankendrone…
This is the Eachine Wizard X220S I converted with a load of 3D printed parts to use a DJI Air Unit, then sold on ebay only for the numpty who bought it to return it as it had no receiver, battery, or controller ( the ad specifically stated the Air Unit etc. were not included ).
Couldn’t be bothered to try selling it again, and as I had a spare Air Unit after fitting a Polar Vista to my Chimera 4, I decided to rebuild it…now with added GPS
I didn’t get to go to Clee Hill today. Lots of rain. Spent all morning trying to rewrite my inav fc code and recompile. Slowly getting there
You’ll get brain ache going through all that code
Time for a Beer
Yikes !! what are you doing there ?
couldn’t you do your settings with the configurator
Holy shit Karl’s in the Matrix
I needed a custom build to get canvas mode for the osd. Its working now
Brill
The joys of SharkByte eh
Here’s something I never expected to see…
When stripping down my C1 Chaser wing to reuse the parts, this ‘cross’ mount at the back of the motor was broken in three places
In effect, only held on by one mounting screw
Monkey metal…
Started build my ‘new’ C1 Chaser wing today, re-using the parts from the first incarnation.
Only planned change at present is to use 5G8 not 2G4 for the FPV feed.
I only plan to use it for ripping round local fields and improve my flying, I’ll keep the long range stuff for my Sky Hunter.
Learning by previous mistakes, I’m adding a full fuselage 3mm plywood base with battery straps position for 6000mAHr 4S2P Li-Ion and 2600mAHr LiPo. the wood will also provide better anchorage for other kit, glueing to side wall on original build was not really my best idea.
Glued in with ‘Gorilla’ glue. I find it works best with wood to ‘something’ though you have to be carefully with the amount and placing it as it foams up with the moisture activate and can get on stuff not intended to
Updated my Chimera4 to the current configuration, with a shorter top deck and extended camera mount. From this:
to this
Weights with batteries:
450 238g
550 246g
650 257g ( so close )
850 271g
take a couple of props off…!
I need to check if the original 2-bladers are lighter…
…2 blade props are 0.7g per prop lighter, so not enough to get it under 250g with a 650mAh battery
finally removed the old set of wires (broken connector) for the GPS on my GEPRC crocodile baby. First soldering ever. Photo is of before, forgot to take a snap of the after. Removing and putting back that vibration damper was almost as much of a head scratcher as the soldering itself.
Looking forward to seeing this in the air.
