Remember the advert lol… Full Mun, Part Mun, tutal eklips
I was gonna watch the eclipse through my colander but I was worried about straining my eyes…
Sadly, I was suckered into taking the great grandkids to Skegvegas today. Was driving back through Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire as the eclipse unfolded. Sort of managed to see glimpses in the shadows cast by trees on the A15/ A46. ( curved shadows) ![]()

Why does this remind me of a certain TV advert ?

The end of the eclipse taken on a phone on Morecambe prom. More interesting than the sun is a Fire Rainbow to the right, officially known as a circumhorizontal arc. Apparently quite rare and nothing to do with the eclipse, pure coincidence.
Was going to do the same myself

I went with my friendly camera club, Field End Photographic Society to Ruislip Lido Beach to observe the eclipse. While most people had solar glasses and filters for cameras, I wnet for the low tech approach of colander and pin hole projector. Here is the colander in action on the beach:

The plane the image is very cool. Makes it look like Packman has just woken up and is yawning!

LHR LONDON A20 (19.37)
For those who didn’t get to see totality, hopefully this will convey just how amazing it is…
Can you tell if I’m happy with the results…? ![]()
