I was watering my allotment early yesterday and a small hot air balloon drifted over. It had no basket and looked like it was going to crash into trees at the end of the allotment. It just missed them and landed in the car park next door. Went to see if all was well and it is a single person small balloon. Support van turned up, they swapped pilots and took off. Three of them take turns to fly and hop from town to town, often landing in car parks early morning as they are often empty. Quite a surprise.
He’s braver than I am
And me definitely
They’ve been around for some time. A friend had a large/basketed one for he and his wife - but they change to having a pair of those 1-man ones.
Yeah not too sure about that. Much prefer the idea of a paramotor - it’s on the list for the next few years
They are so bloody noisy! Paragliding so much more relaxing.
I’ve not tried a paramotor yet but enjoyed gliding. Just the limited range that makes me prefer the idea of a motor - I like to explore
Done it several times … the noise beat me in the end.
When I was in Cuba with my sons mother she talked me into going up a mile high ( tandem ) with the instructor, they pull you along with a boat till the rope reaches its max length ( a mile etc ) then the instructor pulls a pin out & you sail back down
Absolutely crapped it ( hate heights ) I could hear the strings creaking & they dressed me up like coco the clown wearing all sorts of gear & let’s be honest I saw no point in the crash helmet as if that’s going to save me from such a height ( never again )
That looks like “much fun” as my Grandson would say.
