‘Probable bird strike’ according to insurance report based on Airdata record, a series of ‘shocks’ over a period of a few seconds then ‘loss of signal’. They folllowed it down, and I could hear them squawking and see them circling around in the proximate vicinity, not much doubt what the cause of the loss was. I had 7 minutes of battery left, good signal, good weather, failing light but i could see the drone, and was on the way home.
Hands up for the Mini 2, mea culpa 100%. I got myself confused under stress and flew sideways into a tree that I was trying to fly sideways away from with the drone facing towards me, it’s right was my left. I managed to slow the drone for a soft landing in the tree, it was the recovery fall that did the damage, then when I replaced the broken front left arm I think I messed up soldering the 3 wires to the circuit board. It won’t accept a charge and is completely dead at present.
