South East England Meet-up | Saturday 24th February | Rochester ME3 | 09:30 until rain stop play

I’m in the car park, is there anyone here yet?

There’s no signs about this meet posted anywhere

I’m about to go back home as this looks like a no show

I’d head for the flying spot given the messages above that folks are inbound

Follow the route to the flag

Ok so that flag cannot be seen from the car park because the meeting point is located higher up, luckily while I was still in the car park I saw a gentleman turning up and he had Dji cases and gathered he was there for this meeting, I asked him if he knew the way and could show me where it was and he said yes, so we both walked up to the spot, within two minutes our shoes were soaked in water and mud and the actual spot where the meet was, it was a complete water logged field and I thought that not only my little landing pad would have no chance floating over that much water, but also it is ok for younger and stronger men to be standing in water, but not me in my frail health state, so I politely excused myself and got back to the car park and now I am safely home to get rid of these muddy clothes and shoes, have a warm bath and get into clean dry clothes.
For me the next meeting I join, it has to be when the conditions are dry and warm, but thanks anyway to those who organized it and hope they’ll have a good time out there today.

No hard feelings. I just did not feel comfortable in those conditions. Once again, thanks for organising it.

People coming and going weather still flyable

Running out of spare props!

just had a chat with the owner of the indoor bowling centre and he has said that anyone is more than welcome to use the toilets and facilities

Hi @Chicken, it looks as though you’re quite new here :wave:t2:

Why not nip over to the Introductions page, and say hello properly and tell us a bit about yourself. :+1:t2:

Let us know who’s in the photo Brendan and we’ll get some badges issued!

No problem.

Thanks for coming along. It was indeed muddy - my boots and trousers will need some cleaning.

The fine Gentleman is @jedpause

^^^ Badges

Weather was not too cold, boots needed. Rain stay away apart from three 30 seconds bursts. Low wind, clear skies.

Big shout out to @jedpause who helped @Chicken make his maiden drone flight. From maiden to sports-mode gates running, hand catching in one meet-up. … I think @Chicken has the bug. (@GADC_Committee is the a badge for that ?)

Thanks for @Stewrat additional set of gates PVC gates.

Every dog walker etc was nice, Its a good location, especially with access to the Bowling toilets.

Everybody drone and wing when home in one piece! [ Not every prop when home  ]

I have lot of video editing as I was recharging my battery pack in the field.

I really wanted to make it but “things” got in the way. Thanks for organising and I really will try and make the next one, my first meeting.

Many thanks for organising, it was a little muddy but very little rain and it turned out well. A big shout out for Lidl Rocktrail hiking boots. Plenty of space there too. Sorry about the props, my first acro flight lasted nearly five seconds!

Nice flying! Excellent job keeping up and that wing looks so elegant in the air.
