My name is Jackie. My partner, Nick, and I have been flying small DJI drones for over a year now and been putting in hours on the FPV simulator for the past few months. We’re purchasing our first FPV drone very soon and would be really keen to meet with any local FPV pilots who might be willing to meet up with us in person going through some beginner stuff. Or keen to find out if there are already groups of people who get together for FPV practice and maybe we could tag along???
I’ve been sifting through lots of YouTube Channels, but just would really love to have some in person time to pick someone’s brain and get some better insights!
A few post-flight pints afterwards as payment of course!!
Do let us know if you’re interested. We fly at Richmond Park a lot as we’re based in SW London so it’s our closest spot - but totally up for driving elsewhere within a reasonable radius of London!
I am local-ish (Tooting) and there are a few others nearby. I’ve been flying FPV since August so am a little way further down the journey, albeit I have been mostly confined to flying indoors until the weather relented a bit recently!
I usually fly at either Morden Park or Nonsuch Park most weekends, very happy to meet up there sometime and swap notes. Some others go to Knockhill but I haven’t had chance to meet there yet.
Otherwise I am sure that @bmsleight won’t be able to help himself from organising something down Surrey way soon
