Stoke Bardolph Weir, Rushcliffe - Added to Rivers and Canals in East Midlands

I have just added this to the map of places to fly your drone at Drone Scene:

Just on the edge of what is currently the FRZ for Nottingham (Tollerton) Airport, this is a long weir with several small steps on the River Trent.

It’s a walk from anywhere you can park at the top of the cliffs in Radcliffe on Trent down to the nature reserve (ponds). Launch from the edge of the river and you can get a good view of the weir. The FRZ starts about mid river so you can’t currently go all the way over without requesting permission. Tollerton has stopped operating fixed wing air craft while it waits to be redeveloped so no flights are expected and it isn’t clear who to contact but the zone is listed as a FRZ.

Sadly the locks are well in the zone so I haven’t flown there yet.

The originator declared that this location was not inside a Flight Restriction Zone at the time of being flown on 28/09/2025. It remains the responsibility of any pilot to check for any changes before flying at the same location. Landowner permission may be required before taking off.
