Hi all, There is an area called Stratford Junction where they have old buses that they get artists to come and paint regular. A constant changing sea of awesome street art etc on buses.
There’s no air space restriction at the actual location, but it’s surrounded by railways on each of the three sides:
I’m still very new to the drone life, so looking for advice on how I can legally and safely grab some awesome shots of these buses.
I have reached out to the Stratford Junction people via the social media but not heard back
If there are no airspace restrictions Mike @7coloursummer then the only other thing left to do is check your drone class marks or weight on Good 2 Go so you can ensure you’re using the safe and correct separation distances.
I would not have really bothered to ask them other then to maybe TOAL from their site maybe but looking on google maps I would go up onto this road here and TOAL and you should get a decent view / vantage point for the area and get some good shots
Looking on Streetview the bit I maked has a wall around it but its not overly high I dont think or the bit closer to the railway might be a bit lower - but I think you could make it work.
Often use street view / google to check out a location if its not all on drone scene with parking and TOAL points
Be sure to post photos etc when you do fly as man if I was in the area I would be down there like a shot - do love a bit of urban art.
Not sure if you have already flown here, @7coloursummer, but just be aware that, as of later today (1 March), that area of London will be subject to a TDA and you will need to contact the CAA (arops@caa.co.uk) to get permission if you want to fly between 7am and 11pm GMT on any day.
It is getting a bit ridiculous - there are 7 TDAs across London now, presumably, all for the Drones as First Responder (DFR) trials.
The shape of things to come across the country sadly.
I first heard about these TDA’s last year from a contact in a police drone unit and how it wasn’t them responsible for these ridiculous sized zones.. Point the finger at the CAA.
