Oh no did I miss out on my discount?
No you didn’t. I’ll send it.
Back to the usual thoughts as to whether front or rear, rear facing or down facing…
Any thoughts from anyone?
I would be interested in peoples views/experience on this too… I opted for downward facing on the basis I would be using it to help with vlos and looking up at it so logically (to me anyway) would be easier to see the lights… but not sure if there are steong arguments against this or to keep rear facing and in which case to have on the back or front arms
Personally, down facing. They can be seen from all directions (unless the drone is below you … in which case you probably have problems that are beyond being saved by strobes. ), so always assisting with vilibility.
The benefit for orientation of the drone is limited … unless you mount them such that you can’t always see them, in which case they’re not then assisting with visual location.
Probably as many people have a preference for each possible mounting orientation. Very much down to the pilot and exactly what it is they want the strobes to achieve, and when.
Having the printed holders is ok but some double sided tape works perfectly well or even velcro. It saves the extra weight of the 3d printed part.
I’ve always used VERY fine cable-ties. They’ve lasted over 4 years.
Also means I can fold up the MP without needing to take them off. #Bonus
I bought a set of downard and a set for rear facing. The thinking was when flying low the rear facing would be better. I haven’t used the rear facing for a long time!!! I have a red on the left and a white on the right to help with orientation, but at distance you cant really tell as they are so close together they cant really be seperated.
