Ive always phoned my local atc to let them know exactly when taking off and landing, and of course I always thank them . It helps let them know youre not an arsehole and always doing your best to be safe and courteous. Even when flying just out of their control I ping them an email just to let them know. I’ve never been refused a flight, one of these days I’ll get round to dropping them off some nice biscuitss
My flight was yesterday and I have to say they were brilliant. I rang the Duty Ops Manager and gave him a few details and they were very relaxed about it all. Thanks to you guys I was always going to ring them back to let them know when I was leaving but they did actually request a call back - which makes me wonder if they don’t get them too often.
As I said earlier in the thread, this was my first flight in a FRZ and had expected much more difficulty in getting clearance (and far more details given over too) but it’s proven to be a very easy and pleasant experience.
I bet biscuits would go down well though, biscuits or cakes always go down well
