Strumble Head and Lighthouse, Pembrokeshire

I visited on a wet, windy and very grey day, far to windy to risk a FPV plane so resorted to my AIR2S for this short excursion to this still working lighthouse.
Constructed and opened in 1908, at a modest height of just 17metres, it warns of the Llechdafad cliffs on the Pencaer Peninsula.
It is claimed to be one of the best places to watch for whales and dolphins in British waters.
The Llechdafad cliffs are designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI)

Would be so much nicer on a bright sunny day :frowning:

Well done, Steve  It’s an epic spot.

Spent many a time there as a child, being only a stone’s throw from home. If you do get the opportunity to go back, 5 miles south is the Blue Lagoon.

Thanks Chris,
Unfortunately we are only here for one more day and weather not conducive to clarity photography
Will remember it for the future

Looks amazing there  thanks for sharing

Hi Steve, Great Video, I have the Air 2S with the DJI Smart Controller and I just live it! Not sure if I would risk flying mine in that weather but I have seen video’s on YouTube showing the extreme conditions that the Air 2S can fly under! :sunglasses:

Yep, I can be hesitant at times about flying and losing it, but the more you fly in windy conditions the more you learn about it’s capabilities.
When I did my flight for one of the Birthday Challenges, the VOR one, the wind was incredible at one point it was just blowing away with the wind, but switching to SPORT mode gave me that bit extra power and I was able to bring it back.
The solution is, if you can’t control it, just land it and use the GPS coordinates on the screen to retrieve it.
Cheers

OK, bit difficult over water
