Yeah I was in that line haha. Those Mavics really struggled in the wind as they flew over. See if you can see me waving lol
I just saw this in my news feed this morning and thought, “Damn. Missed it.”
And then I remembered that I was actually up in Yorkshire on Saturday. And then I remembered what the wind was like, and I didn’t feel so bad.
Wasn’t too bad wind wise Jez. Would have been good to see you. Was actually too warm and o ly windy for 10-15 minutes!
Wow does indeed look windy!! I know the cat bells walk was cancelled (though some who planned to go, did go). Lovely bit of the world
@GunjaFPV Unusual Martin for Mam Tor. I bet parking was an issue or did they bus 'em in?
Was
Castle Town (or Castleton for the northerners amongst us), was very busy, we got there early for lunch and enjoyed a nice sandwich, before a walk around and then off to the “official” carpark which was a 1 mile or so from the town. £5 parking on a farm, plenty of it TBH. We went up in the afternoon, was a 20-30 min easy walk (< 1.5 miles), then back for some food. The organised walk started around 6pm. Finished a little after 9. Was great, and only windy a bit of the ridge, guess was protected on the way down!
@GunjaFPV Nice one. We parked for free near Barber Booth under a bridge, if I recall (few yrs ago now) went up to Rushups Edge using Chappel Gate track and came down to Edale from Hollins Cross and had our lunch there. Mam Tor was so windy you could lean against it 45° without falling over (probably an exaggeration but seemed like it)!
