Thanks Michael, those are kind words…
TBH I started flying drones in August 2023, only 2 1/2 years ago now, with a MINI3 Pro - which I still have and use. I have added an AIR3 and a pair of AVATA, which offer a different and unique POV, but I am nothing special, and if I can do it, then anyone can…
Lol, if only, I would love to do this commercially, and earn enough to make the move north, ut I haven’t a clue how to monetize it to that extent…
Only 5 or 6 years - if my current job stays the same - and we should be in a position to move north and semi-retire, then I will be free to fly much more often…
Thanks Alex, appreciate the kind words hon… Happy 2025 to you too, lets hope it is a good year and the weather Gods smile on us all for plenty of drone flying
Fingers crossed it sooner.
Stunning indeed ! The Scottish Tourist Board will be delighted with that - and no sign of rain (are you sure it’s Scotland !)
Yes, but unless we win the lottery I can’t see it…
Lol, I did another reel recently with all the wet and dreich weather in it, so this one was sunny for balance…
Wonder if the Scottish Tourist Board will even know it exists… Perhaps I shall send it to them… Would be nice to get a commission for filming for them…
We have been to most Hebrides, including North Uist. I am pretty good at photography having done it and processing since school, and quite good at flying. What I need to do do now is bring it together. I think the secret is planning and a few trials. And looking at how you do it !

Coolio, I have been an amateur photographer myself for many year - started in school, but only had limited B+W processing experience…
Had a hiatus from photography for a long while, then got back into it in the 00’s, an then since crones came along I rarely pick up the camera any more…
TBH I have a few moves I use all the time, a panning sideways orbit is one, and often try and add in a height change and small gimbal movement, but most of the flying comes from what I see in front of me, and understanding how it will look to the viewer…
You are most welcome to see how I do it, over 400 videos on YT, and if you go back to the beginning you will see how my flying and editing has evolved…
Thanks Suzanne. I will have your tips printed on my forehead. Something else to drive herself mad with ! I have subscribed to you so I can watch it directly on the TV through the app on my Roku Box. Ah ! Here she comes downstairs after doing the ironing … !!
Lol, enjoy the 4K 60fps footage on the big TV, honestly it looks better on there, and thank you for the sub
Amazing, Suzanne! You’re very good at making me feel homesick
Thanks Joe, sorry for inciting homesickness, but glad you found it amazing
Beautiful and inspiring. Great to see some calm Skye seas! Particularly liked the views of Neist Point. New to drones so this will encourage me to get out into my local patch of the NS Highlands.
Hi @DMM, it looks as though you’re quite new here
Why not nip over to the Introductions page, and say hello properly and tell us a bit about yourself.
Hi DMM, welcome to GADC, and thanks for the watch and comments, glad it was enjoyed… I am hoping to move to the Highlands in a few years, cant wait, will be flying as much as possible, until then we shall visit a few times a year…
Great stuff Suzanne, lots of smooth and sophisticated camera moves there. Sounds like you shoot 4K at 60fps? Do you make many speed changes while editing? Resolve does those so well with the right settings.
Thanks, Bruce, yeah 4K 60FPS whenever possible, occasionally I will slow it down using Optical Flow in DR, but generally, I don’t mess too much with the speed…
Beautiful
Absolutely stunning Suzanne, as always
Has put me in the mood to head up the A82 this week.
