The first of two FPV videos from our holiday in Switzerland this Summer.
So… you’re currently the other side of the lumpy bits from me.
Awesome places. Awesome flying.
No we’re back now…
Nice video and great to fly abroad.
Have to do anything specific for legal insurance etc? Or just go out and fly?
I have the EASA license… same as the CAA one. I got it last year when I went to Ireland. I’ll need to refresh if I want to fly again next year.
Otherwise, nothing…
Switzerland is pretty OK about flying in the Alps. There’s some areas you can’t due to airfields, etc, but even those you can go sub 250g. There’s an App that shows the areas.
All the normal rules apply that we’re used to. I asked for permission before flying around our chalet, but the owner didn’t care. I saw just one other drone out there, a mavic mini.
Nobody blinked an eye…
It varies from country to country, but in Switzerland it was very easy to find places without too many people…
This also came up in discussion whilst we were just over the border. The Swiss do have a more restricted attitude, whereas the Italians…
The map from the aforementioned app gives the best indication.
Utterly stunning scenery no matter which side you are.
Stunning place for a rip around
When I was looking at the Italian rules they had some very, very odd ones…
Anyway, my last holiday in Italy was to the Naples area… no chance of flying FPV around there!
Absolutely spectacular
Some of that looked a loooooog way up!
