I take stills while recording video with both the Inspire and Mavic Pro…or are we talking about one of the other Dji drones?
The MP doesn’t take stills whilst the video is being recorded.
Edit: Not on my firmware, anyway.
Neither does my Inspire

I tried gardening (front garden), for the first time in about 5 years, the other day. For about 3 hours.
I gained a new acceptance for concrete in the back garden. 
I’ve been waiting for concrete lorry to tip over and shed it’s load into my garden for years now…

Ooooh yes you can, I fished the Inspire out, got it recording hit the shutter button, it took a picture which got saved.
So here’s how, start recording take a picture, you’ll see an arrow at the bottom right hand side of your phone, tap the arrow which takes you to the SD card folder that has your picture. Now just upload the picture to your phone.
Taken from the dinning room, my dinner, scotch pies, mash, beans and plum tomatoes
Is it full res jpeg/raw? … or just a frame-grab at video resolution?

Just a normal frame grab is the same.
It was the taking of proper photos (jpeg/RAW) that I want to do at the same time.
My 9yo DSLR can manage it … modern tech should have no problem.
