Testing Litchi with Mini 2

Hi all, I’ve been testing Litchi with the Mini 2 on iOS for several days now and would like to share what I’ve found.

It does work well with the Mini 2 but unlike using Litchi with the Mavic 2 zoom that has a built in hard drive it would download all the information for the mission on to the drones hard drive and be able to complete the mission even if disconnected to the controller.

Unfortunately the Mini 2 doesn’t have a built in hard drive or at least one you can access so therefore it cannot download the mission data to the drone. This means that the mission is controlled by the app and controller all the time which means the drone must have a good signal with the controller to be able to complete the mission.

If you go behind something like a building the Mini 2 will hover erratically and the gimbal will move up and down erratically and finally quit the mission.

It would probably be better to set the app in the settings to quit the mission and return home if signal is lost.

This was well documented with the Mini 1 as well as the beta for the Mini 2.

Thanks Chris, I thought I would post what I found but wasn’t 100% sure I was right but I suppose it makes sense if there isn’t anyway of storing the flight data on the drone.

Litchi does seem less demanding in normal flying than the fly app too as my iPad mini 4 handles litchi much more smoothly

Surely if you fly behind a building you are no longer VLOS
