You a Timpudleeaan? :joy:

Took the replacement Mini 3 out for a test flight, so why not fly above some water and trees to get the confidence back up!

Ahh - a “Glory”. :+1:

RAF Church Broughton was built in 1942 and remained operational until 1963. Nowadays what is left of the airfield is occupied by industrial units and the odd barn. Fascinating history behind this place, definitely worth a read.

Thanks for that , at least now I know as I’ve never had that happen before but thank you for the answer

Many, many moons ago I lived at 18 Greenhill Rd, and I attended Timperley School [when it still existed] prior to emigrating to Africa at the age of 5.

Oh wow have ever been back? What year did you emigrated?

I live of Park Road the pelican end

Yes I’ve been back a few times. Most recently about 10yrs ago to show my wife my old stomping grounds but I also met some fab folks in the 80’s who also happen to be Timperley residents. I went back once in the late 80’s and the butcher (his shop was almost opposite the school) still remembered me. Incredible.

I emigrated in the late 60’s - all a bit hazy, but I recall doing two years at primary, and being allowed to stay up to watch the moon landing so late 69 {ish).

Visited the National Trust Biddulph Grange Gardens today. Had my obligitory cream tea before walking round the amazing Victorian gardens created by James Bateman. Had a lovely afternoon and… yes the photo was taken outside of NT property. Would have liked to have taken one from the other side of the property but ran out of time. No problem though as I will no doubt be back again. Lovely place to visit.
